2. Jeff Heuerman, TE

NFL teams use more than one tight end, so Jeff Heuerman is in luck there, but any time a team uses their number one pick on a guy, you should probably expect to lose some snaps.

Based on a variety of circumstances over the past four years, Heuerman ended up as the Broncos’ top target at the tight end position in 2018 but unfortunately suffered a season-ending injury.

Even after being placed on IR, Heuerman was re-signed to a fairly modest two-year, $9 million contract and the Broncos had expressed interest in bringing him back all offseason.

Despite their desire to have Heuerman back, the Broncos know Fant is going to have to obviously be on the field to make the impact he’s expected to make in the NFL.

Fant is a mismatch in the passing game and automatically one of the most athletic tight ends in the NFL upon his arrival.

With the new first-round pick in the mix, Heuerman is in danger of losing his spot as the top tight end in the Mile High City.
