2020 NFL Draft: Early look at top five quarterbacks
3. Jake Fromm, Georgia
As I write this today in mid-May, I think there is a substantial gap between the first two individuals on this list and Mr. Fromm. That being said, there is still a lot to like here with the quarterback out of UGA. Beginning with what’s up top, the cerebral aspect of the sport, if you will.
He’s never going to flash on tape, except when he spins the ball on his drop back (the internet seems to love that one). But what is evident is that Jake Fromm identifies coverage with the best of them because he has to. There is also definitely something to be said about the fact that he nudged out a five-star recruit, we will get to him, to earn the right to lead his team to a national championship game his Freshman year.
Players along the likes of Roquan Smith, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, Lorenzo Carter, and Isaiah Wynn trusted this freshman with the keys to this NFL ridden roster. So, if I can’t sell you on the arm, the stats, or the athleticism, let me sell you on this. He’s 24-5 as a starter, two of those losses are at the hands of Bama, and one was last year in a relatively meaningless football game against Texas in the Sugar Bowl.
