Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals are probably the most obvious team to be looking for a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. New head coach Zac Taylor is a brilliant offensive mind who is going to want to get his own guy in the mix under center. Andy Dalton has had a solid NFL career, but barring an unexpected resurgence in 2019, he will likely be replaced sooner, rather than later.

The Bengals can freely move on from Dalton at any time, as he does not have any dead cap money remaining on his contract. However, they do still have him under contract at a reasonable cost through the 2020 season. This situation is perfect for the Bengals to draft a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Taylor can pinpoint the quarterback prospect that he wants, whether said prospect is ready for the NFL right away or not. If the Bengals find a quarterback who still needs some development, they can keep Dalton around for another season and groom their franchise signal-caller from the bench during his rookie season.

Dalton is a perfectly adequate NFL quarterback. However, he is 31-years-old and does not offer much upside under center. Simply put, it is time for the Bengals to move on, and the 2020 NFL Draft is the perfect time to do so.
