Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers didn’t have a ton of needs coming into this draft.

They were 12-4 last year (same record as the Chiefs) and narrowly missed out on winning the AFC West. They probably could have sat out this draft completely and been fine this year, but the rich got richer.

I don’t hate the Chargers’ addition of Jerry Tillery. I think when he’s on, he’s going to be a very good interior player for them and he can not only run down the quarterback, but he can also bat down balls at the line of scrimmage.

But if I’m the Chargers, I would have gone after either Dalton Risner or Cody Ford in the first round. The Chargers have Sam Tevi penciled in at the right tackle spot and third-round pick Trey Pipkins slotted behind him at the moment.

What happens if one of those guys gets hurt? What happens if Russell Okung gets hurt?

The tackle position is not exactly overflowing in Los Angeles, and an immediate starter like Risner or Ford could have really helped this team.
