After releasing Kareem Hunt, the Kansas City Chiefs do not have a true franchise running back on the roster. Some combination of Damien Williams and Carlos Hyde will likely take care of the running back responsibilities in 2019, but I would not be surprised to see Andy Reid and company make running back a priority in the 2020 draft. Luckily, the 2020 running back class is going to be loaded with talent.

J.K. Dobbins had a bit of a down year in 2018, but his upside at the next level is incredibly obvious. He is a dynamic player in space, showing fantastic short-area quickness and overall elusiveness to consistently make defenders miss. He is a smart back who shows tremendous ball carrier vision, displays good burst through the hole and is a real threat as a receiver out of the backfield.

Simply put, Dobbins is an ideal fit for the Chiefs offense and has game-breaking upside at the next level. Snagging late in the first would be an ideal selection for Kansas City.

With the final pick of this 2020 NFL mock draft, the New England Patriots take Michigan State defensive end Kenny Willekes out of Michigan State. Willekes is not a freak edge rusher who will consistently win with speed and athleticism on the edge. That being said, he is a tough and physical player who makes a consistent impact on the game.

Willekes is a tremendous run defender who sets the edge extremely well and can shoot through gaps and make plays in the backfield. He plays with a consistent motor and shows impressive power at the point of attack. His run defense is completely polished and he has some pass rush upside. However, he has a limited pass rush repertoire, now showing an ideal mix of counter moves.

Willekes is a Patriots kind of player who would likely come in and make an immediate impact. Landing him in this 2020 NFL mock draft certainly makes a lot of sense.
