Anthony Johnson, WR, Buffalo

There were talks back in early 2018 that Buffalo wide receiver Anthony Johnson could be one of the top receivers in the 2019 draft class. Fast forward to now and he was left off draft boards entirely.

It’s not as if Johnson disappointed this past season. He put together his second straight 1,000+ yard and 10+ touchdown performance and maintained a stellar yards per catch average (17.8 in his career).

His fall out of the conversation of the top receivers came when the overanalyzing began and the tape study started picking apart his athletic traits.

While Johnson may not be a burner, there is nothing in his game that leaves me to believe he can’t win at the next level. He shows ability to create separation at the top of his routes, and even without elite speed, he uses his body positioning to stack DB’s to make up for that.

Johnson has a lot of qualities that could lead to him getting some reps early on a Buccaneers team that isn’t particularly deep at the position.
