Washington Redskins haul in the 2018 NFL Draft

In 2018, general manager Bruce Allen, head coach Jay Gruden, new VP of Personnel Doug Williams and Director of College Scouting Kyle Smith were back in action. They orchestrated another fine draft that yielded four starters, two solid backups and a couple of question marks.

Daron Payne looks to have a few Pro Bowls in his future and Derrius Guice is expected to make a full recovery from his torn ACL and split carries with future Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson.

Shaun Dion-Hamilton was an excellent pick in the sixth round and ultimately sent Zach Brown to the bench. Although injuries limited Trey Quinn‘s availability last year, he looks to be the front runner for the starting slot receiver.

Defensive lineman Tim Settle, taken in the fifth round, and seventh-round cornerback Greg Stroman had very solid rookie campaigns. While not without some growing pains, both players looked to be players that could be with the team for quite some time.

Geron Christian, the big swing tackle from Louisville, and Troy Apke, the Penn State safety, taken in the 3rd and 4th rounds respectively, have had bumpy starts to their professional careers. Certainly, the jury is still out and either player could make the kind of second-year jump that coaches are hoping to see.

Aside from Christian and Apke, the Washington Redskins walked away from the 2018 draft with a nice mix of productive players. All in all, another very strong effort from the Redskins war room commanders.
