New York Jets: 3 UDFA’s Who Could Make An Immediate Impact
Jabril Frazier, OLB, Boise State
The Jets went out and drafted Jachai Polite in order to fix their inept pass rush core. According to Ourlads.com, Polite is currently behind Jordan Jenkins in the depth chart but will more than likely replace Brandon Copeland, the other starting linebacker before the season begins. Other players in this illustrious group include 2018 UDFA Frankie Luvu and former third-round pick Tarrell Basham.
So given the talent — or lack thereof — outside of Jenkins and Polite, former Bosie State linebacker Jabril Frazier should easily find his way into this rotation.
Now to be objective, Frazier is a more traits based player (good size at 6-4 238) than an all-around refined player, but that shouldn’t totally downplay his skills. He’s a flexible edge rusher who has a good set of chops and swipes in his game to make him a serviceable pass defender.
During his time at Boise State, he racked up 138 tackles, 24.5 TFLs, and 18 sacks.
While he probably won’t start right away, however, if he shows up during camp he’ll make a nice situational pass rusher for New York.
