Greg Dortch, WR, Wake Forest

Greg Dortch going undrafted was a bit of a surprise for me since I had him ranked in the 6th round on my own personal board. He’s a little small (5-9 170), very similar to Hollywood Brown (drafted by the Baltimore Ravens 25th Overall) and his new teammate, Jamison Crowder.

Dortch looked fast on tape and ran a 4.46 40 yard dash at his pro day. While not overly explosive he was an underrated route runner who had very good production at Wake Forest, catching 142 balls for 1800 yards and 17 TDS. Dortch was predominately used as a slot receiver, where he did most of his damage for the Demon Deacons.

However, I think one of his best assets as a player is his ability to return kicks and punts. This skill alone will garner him some early playing time during the season and is probably his best chance at a roster spot.

Unfortunately for Dortch, he is facing an uphill battle heading into training camp. Along with having Crowder on their roster, the Jets are also fielding 2018 UDFA, Deontay Burnett, according to Ourlads.com

But by showcasing his quick feet, speed, and ability to return kicks, Dortch shouldn’t have to worry too much.
