The New York Jets added some key players during the draft, but their UDFA haul could be more promising.

The New York Jets only had six picks to work with during the 2019 NFL Draft, getting some high-risk players at positions they needed.

Early reports came out before the draft saying that Jets GM Mike Maccagnon wanted to trade out of the third overall pick. However, the Jets ultimately stayed put and selected Quinnen Williams, a defensive tackle from Alabama.

After losing their second-round pick to the Colts last year, the Jets didn’t pick again until the 3rd round. With their first of two third-round picks, they selected Jachai Polite, an edge from Flordia. They that up followed that up by selecting Chuma Edoga, an offensive tackle from USC.

On day three, the Jets picked up West Virginia tight end Trevon Wesco, Minnesota linebacker Blake Cashman, and Rutgers corner Blessaun Austin.

Unfortunately, I only see Williams, Polite and Wesco making an impact year one while the other three are currently depth pieces.

But to make up for their lack of picks, the Jets did their due diligence and signed a whopping 18 UDFAs once the draft concluded. I don’t think many of them will be sticking around for very long, however, there are three who can come in an make an immediate impact.
