Arizona Cardinals 2019 NFL Draft Grade: A

Best Pick: Lamont Gaillard, C

I’m going to assume this isn’t the first article you’ve read about the draft results, but I am going to guess this is the first time you’ve seen Lamont Gaillard’s name on a list of “Best Picks”. But that’s not due to his play in college.

Gaillard only played 44 games during his 4-year career after spending his Freshman season redshirting. So, he is older than most entering the league nowadays, but he’s more than seasoned when it comes to handling NFL caliber interior defensive lineman.

He’s only going to play center in the league because he’s just 6’2, but he’s going to do it damn well.

Worst Pick: Andy Isabella, WR

Did they slightly reach for Andy Isabella with the #62 overall pick? Yes. But this tag of “worst pick” for Andy Isabella is strictly about what this draft pick will always be linked to. Which is, the Josh Rosen trade.

For the Arizona Cardinals to trade Josh Rosen for Andy Isabella and a 2020 fifth is simply a failure to the organizations. So, Isabella may turn into the next slot monster in Arizona, but in my mind, he will always be the guy they got back for Rosen.
