Chicago Bears: 3 UDFAs who could make an immediate impact
Emanuel Hall, WR, Missouri
Emanuel Hall is the most purely talented and highest pedigree player who the Chicago Bears signed as an undrafted free agent. He was projected by most to be at least a mid-round selection but surprisingly fell completely out of the draft. According to Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, Hall fell out of the draft due to attitude concerns, but the NFL Draft analyst did consider him to be a second-round talent.
At 6-foot-2, 201 pounds, Hall has ideal size on the outside. He also shows impressive straight-line speed, creating consistent separation on the deep ball. Hall was a bit of a one-trick pony in college, showing a limited route tree in the short to intermediate range. That being said, he also shows good start and stop quickness which bodes well for his ability to grow as a route runner and playmaker with the ball in his hands.
It will not be easy for Hall to break with the Bears out of training camp. With guys like Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller, Riley Ridley and possibly Javon Wims ahead of him on the depth chart, Hall has an uphill climb. However, his long-term upside and dynamic combination of size and speed certainly gives him a chance to make it interesting.
Hall is not a finished product, but you simply cannot teach that combination of size and speed. His raw talent and upside alone give him a strong chance of making the Chicago Bears roster out of camp.
