David Sills, WR, West Virginia

David Sills’ story has been told over and over again, but it’s worth repeating because it’s so ridiculous.

At the age of 13 — before he was even in high school — Sills was offered a scholarship to play college football at USC by Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin, a young head coach at the time, was about as over-confident as you could possibly be. As it turns out, however, Kiffin was right to see something in Sills, though not at quarterback.

After a long journey through trying to keep the quarterback dream alive, Sills ended up at West Virginia as a wide receiver where he was absolutely dominant as a vertical and red zone threat.

Josh Allen has a tendency to let the ball sail on him a bit, and David Sills is a bit of a fail-safe in that regard. He’s explosive and has great length as well as the ability to track the ball and keep his feet in bounds.

I love Sills as a possible red zone threat for Buffalo even as early as this season.
