4. Washington Redskins

After having to resort to Colt McCoy late last season, the Redskins were certainly desperate for a quarterback. Fortunately, Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins’ phone line was still open by the middle of the first round with the Giants passing on him.

He might learn a thing or two from veteran Case Keenum, who Washington signed in free agency this past March, the Washington Post reported.

Jay Gruden may have been jealous of how many picks his brother Jon Gruden had in the first round (3). As the Redskins returned for their second pick of the first round with a trade for the Colts No. 26 spot to acquire big-name pass rusher Montez Sweat from Mississippi State.

Sweat occasionally wins the battle on the edge with his 4.41 speed that he showed at the Combine. However, his moves and technique could use some work and I believe that is why he took such a fall down the board.

It’s typically a good idea to grab a receiver to match with a new rookie QB. The Redskins doubled-down on that claim and selected Ohio State’s Terry McLaurin 76 overall and North Carolina State’s Kelvin Harmon with the 227 pick.
