Jawaan Taylor, OT Florida: Drafted #37

In a drafting world where every NFL Draft expert from Mel Kiper Jr. to Matt Miller is given information on most if not all of these prospects and how teams view them, somehow Jawaan Taylor’s bum knee slipped through the cracks.

Just to be clear. The Matt Miller’s knew about Rashan Gary’s shoulders, The Mel Kiper Jr’s knew about Montez Sweat’s heart condition. As did all of social media. But somehow, some way, no one outside of the league knew about Jawaan Taylor’s knee? How.

Again, it’s not like folks on Twitter are out here pounding the TweetDeck for Jawaan Taylor. But he was a consensus first-round pick by all accounts. So, unlike with Butler & Metcalf, there was truly undisclosed information on one prospect in particular.

This proves one thing: the NFL doesn’t give all the information they are privy to. Which maybe is the most reasonable explanation for the differences in opinions. Maybe Draft Twitter makes appropriate scouting assumptions with the information given, the NFL scouts just make different decisions based on the better information they are given.

I like that answer more than just saying, “Oh that idiot with a blue check on Twitter must not have done his homework. I mean hell, he had D.K. Metcalf as his WR1.”
