2019 NFL Draft: Grades, recaps, and analysis for all 32 teams
1 (3): Quinnen Williams, DL, Alabama
2 (68): Jachai Polite, OLB, Florida
3 (92): Chuma Edoga, OT, USC
4 (121): Trevon Wesco, TE, West Virginia
5 (157): Blake Cashman, LB, Minnesota
6 (196): Blessuan Austin, CB, Rutgers
The New York Jets kicked off their draft class this year by taking the top defensive player available and perhaps the best player in the entire draft.
Quinnen Williams is a monster in the middle, and paired with Leonard Williams and some of the other characters in that Jets defensive front, Williams should thrive.
Good luck to teams trying to stop the interior rush of this team.
I really like the pick of Jachai Polite in the third round despite his poor workouts and apparently poor interviews. This guy has some incredible tape and he can be an edge presence for the Jets.
My favorite late-round pick for the Jets is Blake Cashman out of Minnesota. He was a walk-on defensive back at Minnesota, and developed into a captain at linebacker as well as a stellar special teams player. He will become a fan favorite.
This Jets draft lacked in quantity, but I think they got some strong quality here.
Grade: B+
