2 (47): Marquise Blair, DB, Utah
3 (64): DK Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss
4 (88): Cody Barton, LB, Utah
5 (120): Gary Jennings, WR, West Virginia

8 (142): Ben Burr-Kirven, LB, Washington

The Seahawks maneuvered around this draft a lot. They started with maybe the least picks in the class, and ended with 11.
LJ Collier did not have first-round traits but coaches and scouts loved his tape at TCU, so he got the call as Frank Clark’s replacement with the Seahawks.
They are pretty similar players, both featuring power as their greatest weapon.
Marquise Blair was somewhat of a reach in the middle of the second round. He’s a former JUCO transfer who ended up playing extremely well at Utah before getting this shot to be a replacement for Earl Thomas.
I love the DK Metcalf pick for Seattle. No one throws a more catchable deep ball than Russell Wilson in the NFL, and that skill combined with Metcalf’s will blend well.
Cody Barton was obviously a target of this coaching staff, but he will have to earn his stripes on special teams before cracking the rotation.
Gary Jennings is one of my favorite picks in the draft for any team. Like Metcalf, this deep threat will benefit greatly from playing with Russell Wilson.
Ugo Amadi is a nice piece for the secondary who can play in the box, on special teams, as a slot, and as a safety.
Grade: B+
Getting All-American Ben Burr-Kirven on day three was one of the best value picks of the entire draft. I think he’s going to be a stud in the NFL.
Travis Homer, Demarcus Christmas, and John Ursua will provide some depth and camp intrigue.
