. . San Francisco 49ers. . team. 42.

1 (2): Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State
2 (36): Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina
3 (67): Jalen Hurd, OW, Baylor
4 (110): Mitch Wishnowsky, P, Utah
5 (148): Dre Greenlaw, LB, Arkansas
6 (176): Kaden Smith, TE, Stanford
7 (183): Justin Skule, OT, Vanderbilt
8 (198): Tim Harris, CB, Virginia

The 49ers’ overall draft grade is weighted heavily for their top two picks, which I loved.

Nick Bosa was arguably the best player in this draft class, and the 49ers were able to snatch him up with the second overall pick to chase after Russell Wilson, Jared Goff, and now Kyler Murray.

Along with Dee Ford, I’m not sure any team did a better job upgrading their pass rush this offseason.

In the second round, the Niners got an absolute bull in Deebo Samuel, who is a physical slot player and monster after the catch. I love his potential in this offense.

In round three is where things started to go off the rails for me. The Niners took Jalen Hurd, an offensive weapon (OW) out of Baylor by way initially of Tennessee. Hurd is a unique breed at the position with height/weight/speed and the ability to play both running back and wide receiver.

I wonder what that means for Jerick McKinnon.

The 49ers then used their fourth-round pick on a punter, which I’m not highly in favor of in general, but perhaps Mitch Wishnowsky can help them flip field position a lot.

Dre Greenlaw was a four-year starter in college but I thought he would be more of a 7th round/UDFA type.

Kaden Smith is a solid tight end prospect and will work well with George Kittle.

Justin Skule and Tim Harris provide some depth and intrigue in camp.
