. team. 51. . . . Los Angeles Rams

1 (61): Taylor Rapp, S, Washington
2 (70): Darrell Henderson, RB, Memphis
3 (79): David Long, CB, Michigan
4 (97): Bobby Evans, OL, Oklahoma
5 (134): Greg Gaines, DL, Washington
6 (169): David Edwards, OT, Wisconsin
7 (243): Nick Scott, S, Penn State
8 (251): Dakota Allen, LB, Texas Tech

The Rams moved off of the 31st pick in the first round and just kept moving down the board. I wasn’t sure if they were ever going to pick and then they started rattling off some pretty nice selections.

Taylor Rapp is probably one of the two or three best safeties in this draft class. In addition to signing Eric Weddle, you have to love the toughness on the back end of this Wade Phillips defense.

I think Rapp is an immediate starter for them.

Last year’s postseason showed us the importance of the backup running back for the Rams’ offense, and Darrell Henderson is one of the most explosive players in this class. I wonder if he had gone to Ohio State or Alabama how high he would have been drafted. He’s a steal.

David Long is a good player for this team to develop while Aqib Talib finishes out his contract.

Bobby Evans and David Edwards are two guys who could swing at tackle or guard in my opinion, and the Rams needed depth there.

They traded up for Greg Gaines, and they must believe his fiery, attacking play style translates well in Wade Phillips’ defense.

Nick Scott and Dakota Allen (Last Chance U) will be able to work on special teams and develop at their positions, probably on the practice squad.
