. . Oakland Raiders. . team. 28.

1 (4): Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson
2 (24): Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama
3 (27): Johnathan Abram, S, Mississippi State
4 (40): Trayvon Mullen, CB, Clemson
5 (106): Maxx Crosby, DE, Eastern Michigan
6 (129): Isaiah Johnson, CB, Houston
7 (137): Foster Moreau, TE, LSU
8 (149): Hunter Renfrow, WR, Clemson
9 (230): Quinton Bell, EDGE, Prairie View A&M

I think it’s safe to say the Raiders didn’t need to send everyone home to protect the identity of their ‘surprise’ fourth overall pick. Especially when their other two picks — notably Josh Jacobs — were telegraphed for weeks.

Clelin Ferrell is a solid edge player but not a spectacular prospect. He’s a culture establisher for the Raiders and they were willing to pay a high price to get him.

I don’t mind that.

Josh Jacob is a ‘grinder’ and a true Jon Gruden selection. He will be featured in this offense and runs angry.

It would be fun to see the Oklahoma drill between Jacobs and Johnathan Abram, the Raiders’ third first-round draft choice. Abram is so passionate about football, it’s almost a turnoff.

Still when you watch him play, you can help but love what he brings to the table. He’s a true throwback safety, so it’s no wonder he appealed to Gruden and Mayock.

Trayvon Mullen is a solid pickup from a stellar college defense in round two, and Maxx Crosby obviously made a name for himself despite playing college ball at Eastern Michigan. He had eight forced fumbles over the past two seasons.

Isaiah Johnson is a converted receiver playing corner who has elite athletic traits. If he puts the whole package together, he could be a star.

I love the Foster Moreau pick in round five, and Hunter Renfrow is a fun story as a productive slot for the Clemson Tigers for the past four years.

Quinton Bell is one of the most freakish athletes in the entire draft. We’ll see if he can put it together in the NFL as an edge rusher.

Oh yeah, and the Raiders used 3rd and 5th round picks for some guy named Antonio Brown.
