The Baltimore Ravens, with their last two Day 3 picks, selected Texas A&M IDL Daylon Mack and Penn State QB Trace McSorley. What grades do those picks get?

To wrap up their 2019 NFL Draft class, the Baltimore Ravens first selected Daylon Mack, an interior defensive lineman from Texas A&M in the 5th round.

Mack gives the Ravens depth at defensive tackle and could be a rotational player that is mainly a run stopper who also has some pass rush ability. He can be insurance for Willie Henry as he was hurt most of the year in 2018.

In the 6th round with their final pick, Baltimore got a backup quarterback who can be an impact player at other positions in Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley. With the loaded quarterback room, I could seem them deploy two of them on the field as McSorley can play the Taysom Hill role for Baltimore.

He was a productive playmaker at Penn State and be a role player in multiple positions on offense, potentially defense, and even specials teams but more importantly; his play shows his grit and toughness as an underdog Baltimore Ravens fans can root for.

With the eight selections in the 2019 NFL Draft, I would give Eric DeCosta’s first draft as the general manager of the Baltimore Ravens an “A-” grade.

There might have been certain players I would have wanted instead but all in all, most of the major needs were addressed at a great value. This draft has great upside with the direction the Ravens went on the offensive side of the ball as it surrounds Lamar Jackson with playmakers and speed at the positions, making it hard for NFL defenses to account for Jackson, the power run game, and their speedy receivers on the outside all at the same time.

This grade does not account for the undrafted free agents, which the Ravens are already signing after the draft as they are well known to find gems like Gus Edwards and Michael Pierce this time of year.

So far, Miami interior defensive lineman Gerald Willis, Texas Tech wide receiver Antoine Wesley, Louisville wide receiver Jaylen Smith, North Texas linebacker E.J. Ejiya, Texas A&M linebacker Otaro Alaka, Colorado safety Evan Worthington, and Last Chance U star Ronald Ollie (Nicholls State interior defensive lineman) are the big names they have signed.

dark. Next. Best value picks in round 5

I thought the guys listed were all draftable players so getting value is the name of the game. Free agency is also a thing still as I would not be surprised if they signed Ezekial Ansah as reports are saying their visit went well a few days ago so more pass rush help could be on the way.
