2019 NFL Draft: Josh Rosen trade leads biggest day two stories
Denver Broncos make a big splash
The Denver Broncos are having an outstanding draft, starting with moving down in the first round and taking Noah Fant out of Iowa to be their mismatch at tight end.
On day two, the Broncos were targeting a starting offensive lineman, and they got one in Dalton Risner out of Kansas State, a player from Wiggins, CO (a short road trip for his family to come see him play) who was a three-time captain at Kansas State and an absolute stud at right tackle.
Risner will play right guard next to Ja’Wuan James for the Broncos, but man this kid can ball and he’s a high character player.
The Broncos moved up 10 spots right after the Risner pick and made back-to-back selections, stealing Missouri’s Drew Lock with the 42nd overall selection.
I don’t think anyone would have batted an eye if Lock had been the Broncos’ pick at number 10 overall, or number 20.
John Elway loves Lock, and the Broncos simply couldn’t let him fall any further.
This was a really good couple of picks back-to-back for John Elway, and this whole situation was really well-played.
