2019 NFL Draft: Josh Rosen trade leads biggest day two stories
DK Metcalf nearly slides out of second round
The Seattle Seahawks mercifully ended the painful 2019 NFL Draft slide of Ole Miss wide receiver DK Metcalf, who blew everyone away with his Scouting Combine performance.
Metcalf had less than 70 catches in college, which is a prime reason he was not selected before pick 64, the last pick of the second round.
The Seahawks actually had to trade up to get him there, too.
Metcalf is a freakish athlete with straight-line speed, leaping ability, strength, and a massive wingspan. Freshly re-signed quarterback Russell Wilson should do what he can to make sure he maximizes Metcalf’s potential, because it’s out of this world if he ever realizes it.
Apparently, when Metcalf met with the Seahawks before the Draft, he came to the meeting shirtless.
That’s hilarious, and it paid off for Metcalf. Though he probably would have preferred about 40-50 picks before this one, he went to a great situation.
