LB. Minnesota. player. 30. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Blake Cashman. 157

From walk-on at Minnesota to fifth-round draft pick of the New York Jets.

Blake Cashman is one of the best stories in this year’s draft, and I love his fit in this defense which is now all of a sudden becoming absolutely loaded with young talent.

The Jets are getting a team captain, special teams ace, and someone who could factor into their defensive plays under Gregg Williams eventually.

Cashman is a converted defensive back with the athleticism of a corner or safety and the size of a linebacker. He can hit, he can cover, he’s instinctive, and he’s got a big future ahead of him in the NFL.
