Round 1 Pick 19: Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan

Rashan Gary was a guy that was presumed to be a top 10 pick after absolutely dominating the NFL combine back in March.

But with the long drat evaluation process, his stock has seemingly slipped a little bit as we near the big event.

This is good news for the Titans, however, as Tennessee stops his slight fall and submit his name with the 19th overall pick.

While Gary didn’t have the production that you would expect to see in a top-tier defensive linemen (just 9.5 sacks in 3 seasons), he shows incredible physical traits.

A 280lb human should not be able to run a 4.58 40 yard dash, have a 38” vertical, and launch 10’ in the broad jump, but that’s exactly what he did in Indianapolis.

Those physical traits translate on the field as well as he shows impressive quickness and strength that provide him with a versatility that is coveted in today’s NFL.

The Titans are a great fit to show off that versatility as they like to mix it up between 3-4 and a 4-3 fronts, depending on the situation.

Imagining Gary alongside perennial pro-bowler Jurrell Casey is something that should get every Tennessee fan excited for the future.
