Round 2 / Pick 60: TRADE – Chargers Aquire Josh Rosen for the 60th pick

With the Cardinals likely to select Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the first overall pick in the draft, it is time for them to move on from Josh Rosen. Rosen who was the 10th overall pick in last year’s draft started 14 games for Arizona last season.

While Rosen’s numbers weren’t very impressive in his first year, he showed consistent growth throughout his 14 games under center. Rosen has also shown an impressive amount of maturity in the midst of the uncertainty surrounding his future in Arizona.

Heading into the 2018 NFL Draft, many scouts believed Rosen had the most “pro ready” arm in the draft. The biggest concern for Rosen coming out was the uncertainty on whether he was committed to making the NFL his first priority life for many years, or if he would get bored with it after a couple of seasons.

If Rosen does end up in LA, he will have the best possible mentor for him. Being around Philip Rivers brings the competitor out of everybody and it could do the same for Rosen.

The Cardinals have said they want a first round pick in return for the young quarterback, but as of now, the Chargers are the only team that has offered better than a third-round pick. as we are closing in on the draft, look for the Cardinals to make one last effort to move Rosen before the draft starts.

If they can’t unload Rosen and they select Kyler Murray with the first pick, teams will likely be willing to give up much less in return for the second year quarterback.
