Devin White, LB, LSU

Is Devin White really a candidate to ‘surprise’ people come draft night if he’s the Raiders’ pick?

I’m not so sure about that. Most people think White is one of the top five or six players in this class, so picking him fourth overall wouldn’t be that much of a surprise.

The surprise would be the Raiders have seemingly been on a different track than this all offseason.

A rangy linebacker like White could actually make quite a bit of sense in Paul Guenther’s defense, but at fourth overall?

That’s a huge reach in my opinion. If the Raiders pulled the trigger there, the surprise would be actually going through with something like this at four overall and taking White over players like Quinnen Williams, Josh Allen, and others.
