Linebacker #1: Devin White, LSU

If the defensive end debate were the 2008 100-meter dash at the Olympic games in China, then the race for the top spot in the 2019 NFL draft class for Linebackers is just a tad bit closer. (By the way, if you don’t remember the 2008 100-meter dash, Bolt pimped it at the end.)

Analogies aside, I think Devin White barely nudged Devin Bush out here at the #1 spot. Why? I think he’s the athlete with the highest ceiling at the position.

For those who don’t know, White was a running back until his days in Baton Rouge, so believe it or not, he’s still got room to grow at the position. Which, if you evaluate him as highly as I do, is a frightening proposition.

This is an athlete that dominated in the SEC at LSU, and despite Nick Saban making him look a bit foolish a couple of times, he consistently identified well at the middle linebacker position. Not to mention what he can offer in blitz packages.
