Houston Texans 7-round mock draft: Protecting DeShaun Watson
Round 6 (195): Oli Udoh, OT, Elon
A small school product that started receiving draft hype after his performances at both the senior bowl & the East-West Shrine Game, Oli Udoh is a massive prospect with intriguing potential.
He measured in Indy with a combine high 85’ wingspan and was able to get 26 reps on the bench press, which is typically tougher for long armed players.
He was also able to tally a top-10 40 time amongst the offensive line group, so the athletic potential for Udoh is through the roof.
That athleticism and length are exactly what make him moldable as a tackle prospect but there are certainly area’s that need to be cleaned up.
The potential easily outweighs the work he needs to put in so if he’s on the board here I think it’s a no-brainer for the Texans.
I touched on the Texans need to shore up the O-line and had them going with Andre Dillard in round 1, but with some development and patience, Udoh could eventually be Dillard’s running mate on the other side for years.
