Round 3 (86): Jace Sternberger, TE, Texas A&M

The Texans have not had an impact season from a tight end since Owen Daniels pro bowl year way back in 2012.

While the team did draft two tight ends in 2018 (Jordan Akins in the 3rd & Jordan Thomas in the 6th), neither of the Jordan’s showed a lot last year.

One name that could add a real threat in the Houston passing attack is Texas A&M’s Jace Sternberger.

Sternberger possesses the skills as a receiver that are highly coveted in today’s game, as he has shown to have an advanced route tree, fluid athletic ability and effortless hands.

While he only had one year of production at A&M, the 6’4 250 pound junior displayed quite a bit of what he can add to an NFL offense and only helped himself more after having an excellent showing at the combine.

If Sternberger is available at 86, the Texans should jump at the opportunity to add another weapon for Deshaun Watson.
