Round 2 (54): Julian Love, CB, Notre Dame

It’s no secret that the Texans are desperately in the market for some defensive back help.

As I alluded to earlier, the team let Kareem Jackson and Tyrann Mathieu walk in free agency and replaced them with Bradley Roby and Tashaun Gipson.

While these are solid veteran additions, Houston could really use some depth and youth at the cornerback position specifically.

There will likely be a huge run on corners at the end of the first and early in the second round, so it’s tough to predict who will be available when that 54th selection rolls around.

One name that hasn’t been talked about enough when discussing the top guys in this draft is Notre Dame’s Julian Love.

Love has had back to back stellar seasons with the Fighting Irish and racked up more pass deflections in the past two seasons than anybody in the country with 36.

Love is always in position to make a play and he would immediately add energy and talent to a positon that desperately needs both qualities and should absolutely be in the mix here.
