There’s always the chance of a selection that is more of a wild card. Two positions come to mind when discussing this for the Steelers in the first round of the NFL Draft.

For one, the Steelers could look to the edge at 20. If someone like Brian Burns were to fall, Pittsburgh could jump at that chance. Burns would fit nicely in the Steelers defense as an edge rusher, and he has plenty of bend and counter moves to start right away.

The other potential pick could be a safety/corner hybrid defender. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson is the name that comes to mind here. CGJ could be a really good nickel corner right away at the next level, but he can also play near the line of scrimmage or even on the back end.

He would provide some much-needed versatility for that defense.
