Linebacker

The Steelers’ dream scenario in the first round of the draft would be to get an elite talent at inside linebacker.

The problem is that there are only two linebackers in the draft who fit the bill, and both are projected to go very early in the draft. LSU’s Devin White is favored to go to Tampa Bay at five overall, and many believe this is the worst kept secret in the draft.

Michigan’s Devin Bush is the other top prospect at linebacker, and his range right now is somewhere between eight and 15.

It isn’t impossible, but it isn’t probable for the Steelers to get one of these two linebackers without trading up.

The possibility of a trade up could be on the mind in Pittsburgh. The Steelers don’t have a strong history of moving around in the draft, but maybe now is the time, with a window closing. It might take a move up that gives away their 2020 first round selection, like what the Saints did last year, but it could be worth it to get either White or Bush.
