Round 5, Pick #144: Foster Moreau, TE LSU

Did David Njoku have his best season since entering the NFL last year? Absolutely. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t draft another guy at that position, and Moreau is the perfect counterbalance.

Njoku is a big play, big drop tight end that is by no stretch of the imagination an impact in the run game. Whereas Foster Moreau is never going to take you for an 80-yard touchdown, but he can move people at the point of attack and he’s sure-handed in the passing game.

John Dorsey is known for taking chances on guys that may have had questionable character concerns in their past, well Moreau doesn’t exactly fit that bill. Considering he wore #18 at LSU which is historically given to the toughest, baddest, hardest working dude on the roster.

Sounds like a guy that will probably get along with Baker Mayfield. Offensive tackle and tight end are really the only right now needs offensively for Cleveland, which as we’ve said before, hasn’t happened in a long time. So, I think Dorsey gets his complementary piece at tight end because after all, Njoku was Sashi Brown’s draft choice, not Dorsey’s.
