The Buffalo Bills would certainly love to add the explosive Ed Oliver to their defensive line, but is he their top target in the 2019 NFL Draft?

After the emotional retirement of longtime stud defensive tackle Kyle Williams, the Buffalo Bills are on the hunt for another playmaker along the defensive line.

One player who could be the main target for them in the 2019 NFL Draft is Houston’s Ed Oliver, who is taking his last visit of the draft season to Orchard Park, NY.

Oliver is the first known interior lineman to make his way to the Bills’ facility for an official visit, which comes not long after the Bills made their presence abundantly clear at Oliver’s unbelievable pro day back at the end of March.

At his pro day, Oliver ran a 4.73-second 40-yard dash, posted an outrageous 4.22 short-shuttle, a 7.15 in the three-cone drill, and a 36-inch vertical jump. Not only are those numbers rare for a defensive lineman, they are virtually unprecedented. The only other prospect who comes close is Aaron Donald, who bested some of those numbers and others he was close or slightly less than.

Sean McDermott, the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, was front-and-center at the Houston Cougar’s stellar pro day.

The Bills love Ed Oliver, and they don’t care who knows.

McDermott had a front row seat at the pro day, and the Bills brought him to their facility on the last possible day to bring prospects in. It’s not like they can recruit him — the NFL Draft is always an unpredictable crapshoot — but the Bills may simply be bringing in Oliver to say, “See you soon.”

The fit makes a ton of sense, even to the point it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Bills try and move up to secure Donald. Just like everyone else, they’ve seen the type of impact a defensive lineman with his athletic skills can make with Aaron Donald wrecking games in Los Angeles.

The sky is the limit for Oliver, and the Bills can draft him to create pressure from the inside out.
