The Seattle Seahawks locked in quarterback Russell Wilson with a long-term contract extension. What might a Seahawks mock draft look like now?

The Seattle Seahawks apparently felt like Russell Wilson’s self-imposed deadline for a new contract as well as the threat of New York City were serious enough to give the superstar quarterback a new contract at the 12th hour.

Literally.

Add to that list that Wilson can basically show up at the New York Yankees facility whenever he wants and has a uniform waiting for him there, and things are sitting pretty for the Super Bowl 48 champion.

In my opinion, no player has carried his team and done more with less than Russell Wilson has over the past five years or so in Seattle. The Seahawks need to do whatever it takes to surround Wilson with as much talent as possible on both sides of the ball.

The Legion of Boom has been dismantled. Its leader — Earl Thomas — was last seen riding off the field on a cart flipping the bird to the Seahawks’ sideline. Things are not peachy in Seattle despite the team’s rich recent history of elite defensive play and constant contention in the NFC.

Despite everyone’s assumptions last year that the Seahawks would compete for last place in the NFC West, Wilson got this team to the playoffs and he’ll do it again.

The Seahawks have just four selections in the 2019 NFL Draft, so they will need to maneuver around to get additional selections if they want to address their multiple roster holes.

This Seahawks mock draft will not focus on maneuvering around to add more picks, however. We’ll use what the Seahawks have in order to set this team up with some young talent that can help right away.
