ROUND 3 Pick 76: ANDY ISABELLA, WR, Massachusetts

I think Deebo Samuel and Parris Campbell are both going to free fall down draft boards come draft day. It wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t go until very late in the second round or early in the third.

Unfortunately, I doubt either makes it to 76. But, there is a good chance Isabella does and he would be a welcome addition to our offense.

It’s his blazing speed that catches your eye but watch a little film on the guy and you see more than just a burner. He’s a great route runner and has terrific hands. Isabella would be a tremendous asset to our offense and a weapon that Case Keenum and Colt McCoy would rely on heavily.

ROUND 3 Pick 96: BRETT RYPIEN, QB, Boise State

After what happened to Washington last year they absolutely, positively have to keep three QBs on their roster this year.

Rypien is all over the place on draft boards. I’ve seen him ranked everywhere from the 5th to the 12th best QB in this draft. His lack of elite arm strength could drop him to the bottom of the 3rd round. I sure hope it does.

Rypien was a four year starter at Boise State. He played in 50 games, winning 37 of them. He threw for 90 touchdowns and 13,581 yards. While he doesn’t have a cannon he does have a super quick release.

Once you get past the top four QBs I have Rypien right there with Will Grier. I don’t see a lot of Pro Bowls in this guy’s future but I do see a quarterback that, when called upon, can come in and win games. I’d feel pretty good about going into the season with Case Keenum, Colt McCoy and Brett Rypien.

None of them are superstars but I think all of them are capable of surprising a lot of people, and a lot of teams.
