2019 NFL Draft scouting report: Kelvin Harmon, WR, North Carolina State
By Andrew Kim
2019 NFL Draft hopeful Kelvin Harmon, a stud wide receiver from North Carolina State, could be a steal on day two.
Hailing from Liberia, West Africa (moved to the United States when he was 4), North Carolina State wide receiver and 2019 NFL Draft hopeful Kelvin Harmon was a 3-star recruit coming out of Palmyra, New Jersey.
As a freshman at N.C. State, he was awarded the Phillip Rivers Award as the top player in his class, as he had 462 yards and 5 touchdowns on 27 receptions (starting in 4 games). Harmon, at age 22 coming out in this year’s draft class, already possesses the skills that translate to the NFL as a prototypical outside receiver with low bust potential.
Harmon had strong production in back to back seasons, but he did not have a good combine performance and that could lower his stock out of the 1st round.
Harmon became a starter for the Wolfpack and followed 2016 with a great sophomore season, becoming the first receiver from N.C. State to eclipse over 1,000 yards since 2003. He was 2nd team All- ACC, catching 69 passes for 1,017 yards for 4 touchdowns.
In his junior year, he became 1st team All-ACC as he led his team in catches (81) and receiving yards (1,186). Harmon almost doubled his touchdown count from the last two seasons as he caught 7 touchdowns last season.
Here are his measurables and combine numbers as well as how he stacks up against the field, provided by MockDraftable. Here are the games (9) I watched for him the last two years at N.C. State. With that being said, let’s check out his strengths and weaknesses.
