Tampa Bay Buccaneers: First round options in 2019 NFL Draft
Trading Down
If the Buccaneers don’t feel great about either Ed Oliver or Devin White and players like Quinnen Williams and Josh Allen are off the board already, they would undoubtedly entertain trade proposals.
If some team is desperate enough to move up for a quarterback, they may actually come away with a nice haul.
In fact, if the Buccaneers decide to sell the 5th overall pick and trade Gerald McCoy, it’s possible they could come away from this year’s draft with multiple first-round picks or three second-round picks.
Here are a couple of prime first-round targets for the Bucs if they move down.
Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
If linebacker is the Bucs’ top need, they could get a really good player in Devin White and they could get him by moving down to 10 (Denver), 13 (Miami), or even 15 (Washington).
White is instinctive, athletic, and extremely tough. He would be a great fit in Todd Bowles’ defense.
Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma
After letting go of DeSean Jackson and losing Adam Humphries to the Titans in free agency, the Bucs could use another option at receiver.
Marquise Brown might be the fastest player in the draft, but he didn’t get a chance to prove it after suffering a Lisfranc injury. He has been working out with Kyler Murray and is progressing to be ready by training camp.
He would be a bit of a risky pick in the top 20, but Brown has the ability to blow the top off of an offense just like DeSean Jackson has his whole career.
