It’s not easy to pick on now-retired Baltimore Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome. The man was consistently one of the best at his job for over 20 years. Yet even the best aren’t immune to mistakes from time to time. One position that has consistently given him problems in the draft over the years is wide receiver. Never was that clearer than when he used the 26th overall pick in 2015 to grab Central Florida standout Breshad Perriman.

There was no denying the talent. Perriman had good size to go with absolutely blazing speed. There were concerns about him though. He wasn’t a good route runner and he had a frequent problem with dropping passes. The Ravens took him anyway. He ended up missing his entire rookie season due to a knee injury, had just 499 yards his second year, and missed another five games in 2017. In total, he made just 49 catches for Baltimore.
