10. Denver Broncos

45. . QB. Memphis. Paxton Lynch . 10. player

John Elway has done plenty of good things since taking over command control of the Denver Broncos. Drafting quarterbacks have not been one of them. In fact, the great irony is it might be his Achilles heel. Aside from signing Peyton Manning, which was a no-brainer for any GM, he’s missed on a number of QBs. None were more crippling to the team than the drafting of Paxton Lynch back in 2016, a move that was supposed to elevate them back to contention.

Lynch was supposed to be the heir apparent to Manning. The one who would carry the torch into the future for the defending champions. Elway even traded up in the 1st round to get him. Lynch certainly looked the part with a big body, strong arm, and decent mobility. The problem is he suffered from the same issue as many other Elway ventures. He couldn’t process NFL defense fast enough for any of that to matter.

Lynch played five games, threw four touchdowns and four interceptions, and was sacked 18 times.
