5th Round

57. . S. Miami. Sheldrick Redwine . 3. player

The Bears have kept tabs on Redwine since the pre-draft process began. They met with him at the Senior Bowl and the scouting combine. It’s clear enough they’re interested in some level. It isn’t hard to see why. Redwine is a bigger, athletic safety who moves with good range befitting his cornerback background. He also is among the more physical safeties in this class.

There is no fear in him about delivering a big hit when the opportunity presents. He’s still learning how to play the position at a more advanced level but his progress has been trending up. With Ha Ha Clinton-Dix under contract for only a year, it would be wise for the Bears to leave their options open. Redwine gives them a depth player with the upside to develop into a starter.
