Taking Shots

Kevin White, WR & Brett Hundley, QB

The Cardinals took a couple of shots on players in free agency, including former first-round pick Kevin White.

Coming out of West Virginia, I was as high on White as just about anybody. I felt like his game was a combination of Larry Fitzgerald and Julio Jones.

He has almost the exact same body type as Fitzgerald, but the speed of Jones. I figured it would be no time before he developed into the next elite receiver in the NFL, but that never materialized. He has done absolutely nothing with the Bears but his upside is massive and perhaps he can excel in an offense that should be pass-heavy under Kliff Kingsbury.

The Cardinals also took a fun shot on Brett Hundley. The question is whether he will be backing up Josh Rosen or Kyler Murray.

My guess is it will be the latter.

Hundley was not a high draft pick like White, but he was a great college player and has shown upside since coming into the league. Maybe he will get an opportunity to play some more in the regular season with the Cardinals (hasn’t played since 2017).
