6th Round

31. . ILB. Clemson. Tre Lamar . 10. player

The 3-4 defense demands linebackers with the ability to play downhill against the run, take on blocks and make tackles. Tre Lamar checks all of those boxes after a successful career at Clemson. The issue teams have is his athleticism. Some fear he doesn’t have the range to survive in coverage, but he certainly has qualities worth exploring.

7th Round (via LAR)

Penn State. Trace McSorely . 11. player. 31. . QB

With so many picks at their disposal, this is a rare occasion where the Giants can afford to take two players at the same position, including quarterback. Trace McSorley is short and doesn’t have a strong arm but it’s impossible to ignore his mobility, leadership, and natural playmaking instinct. He just gets things done. Having that as a backup can be invaluable at times.

7th Round (via MIN)

Appalachian State. Jalin Moore . 12. player. 31. . RB

Saquon Barkley is the unquestioned featured back for New York but there is never harm in having depth, especially at such a physical position. Jalin Moore isn’t a premier athlete but he’s tough, strong, runs hard, and is committed to his duties as a pass protector. These are traits worth having on your team. Guys like this find ways to contribute.
