More from NFL Mocks

Chicago Bears sign Cordarrelle Patterson

The Bears spent a ton of money last year upgrading their roster and it got them to the playoffs. This year they entered free agency with far less funds, so they’d have to be calculated if they were to score any sort of it. One area that has plagued them for years? The kick returner spot. They were dead last in the NFL in 2018 at just 19 yards per return. Cordarrelle Patterson averaged 28.8 yards per return in New England that same season. This is a comparatively massive upgrade.

Los Angeles Rams sign Eric Weddle

Losing Lamarcus Joyner is difficult for the Rams, but they might be getting something more valuable in Eric Weddle. Not only is he an athletic and instinctive player, but he might also be one of the smartest in the entire NFL. Nothing gets past his notice from the safety position and it’s why defenses almost always seem to be better when he’s around. His expertise could be something that’s been missing on an otherwise talented unit.

Kansas City Chiefs sign Carlos Hyde

Nobody will read much into this signing right now, but rest assured they’ll remember when the season begins. Carlos Hyde has been badly misused for years both in San Francisco and Jacksonville. For the first time, he’ll be going into his offense that will know how to fully utilize his talents as a strong runner and versatile receiver out of the backfield. Don’t be surprised if he starts making big plays, reminding people why he was such a high draft choice out of Ohio State.
