Case Keenum: C+

This trade had to be really bittersweet for Case Keenum.

On the one hand, he’s probably really disappointed that things didn’t work out for him in Denver. On the other hand, he has an opportunity to start with the Redskins this year.

The reason this isn’t an overwhelmingly positive grade for Keenum? He was slated to make $21 million in 2019 and is now in line to make “just” $10.5 million.

As fair as that is based on his 2018 play, it can’t be easy to know your salary for the upcoming season got cut in half.

The Broncos are paying Keenum $7 million while the Redskins will pay him $3.5 million.

He now has the opportunity to compete with Colt McCoy for the starting job in Washington, but nothing will be handed to him like it was in Denver last year.
