Grades for the Broncos and Redskins in Case Keenum trade
How did each team — and the player — make out in the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins trade for QB Case Keenum?
The Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins came to an agreement on a trade for quarterback Case Keenum ahead of free agency.
For the second consecutive year, the Redskins have struck a pre-free agency trade to address the quarterback position.
In 2018, Washington made a blockbuster deal with the Kansas City Chiefs for Alex Smith. Unfortunately, Smith suffered a gruesome leg injury and his future with the team is in doubt.
They have Colt McCoy on the roster, but decided they needed to bring in an established starter to compete with him.
The Denver Broncos signed Keenum in the early hours of the legal negotiating period with free agents in 2018, signing him to a two-year, $36 million contract.
It’s safe to say he didn’t meet expectations in his one and only year with Denver.
This trade won’t become official until Wednesday, March 13, the first day of the new league year.
Let’s take a look at grades for each team as well as Keenum in this trade.
