The Arizona Cardinals are in the spotlight after the 2019 Scouting Combine. Is Kyler Murray about to take Josh Rosen’s job?

The Arizona Cardinals are the talk of the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine with their quarterback position a major emphasis of the rumor mill. All of the talk is centered around Kyler Murray being the number one pick going away from the Combine, even though he didn’t throw.

He didn’t have to.

Murray’s history with Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury goes back to his days in high school when he was recruited to play at Texas A&M. Things didn’t work out at A&M for either Murray or Kingsbury, but they have a chance to try things out again in the pros.

This has gone from a funny idea based on something Kingsbury said to pay a complement to Murray to the media to an actual thing. It really feels like, less than two months before the 2019 NFL Draft, the Cardinals are going to part ways with Josh Rosen and draft Murray.

Opinions are split on whether or not that decision is a wise one, since the Cardinals’ interest in Murray drives the value of Rosen down a little bit. I still think some team would be willing to pay a reasonable price for the 2018 first-round pick, as desperate as some teams are, and I have an idea of what one team can do to get it done.

We’ll get to that on the next page.
