Offensive Linemen:

Andre Dillard (Washington State)

  • 40-yard dash:  4.96 seconds
  • Bench press:  24 reps
  • Vertical jump:  29 inches
  • Broad jump:  118 inches
  • Three-cone:  7.44 seconds
  • 20-yard shuttle:  4.4 seconds

The Bears have actually met with three offensive linemen to this point, at least according to public knowledge. However, two of them failed to participate in any combine drills in Lamont Gaillard of Georgia and Alex Bars of Notre Dame. The only one who did work out was Dillard and it’s become clear that the Washington State starter isn’t going to be an option for them.

Initially it was felt he might be in play in the 3rd round two months ago after a solid college career. Sadly his good Senior Bowl and now a strong showing at the combine have likely catapulted him into 1st round conversations. He has the size and athletic chops to be a future starter in the league. All the more reason it was good the Bears kept Bobby Massie when they did.
