D.K. Metcalf was as freakish as anticipated at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine weigh-ins. His workout will have everyone watching.

Ole Miss wide receiver D.K. Metcalf is one of the most intriguing players in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Not just for the fact that he’s a rare redshirt sophomore early entry or because he has NFL bloodlines, but because he has one of the most truly freakish physiques you will ever see from a young NFL prospect.

Metcalf has been going viral in the NFL Draft community after photos surfaced on Instagram and Twitter of what he looks like leading up to his Combine workout.

Metcalf’s combine measurements lived up to the hype these photos created around him.

Height: 6’3″ 3/8
Weight: 228 pounds
Hand: 9 7/8
Arm: 34 7/8
Wingspan: 82 7/8

Metcalf’s weight of 228 pounds came with just 1.6 percent body fat. That is absurd.

His weight was also tied with Arizona State’s N’Keal Harry for the heaviest at the wide receiver position at this year’s Scouting Combine.

With a wingspan of 6-foot-11, Metcalf’s catch radius is one of the most impressive you will ever see for a wide receiver. He’s got incredible bulk and length, and he’s going to probably solidify his stock as a top 10 pick with a strong workout on Saturday.

Imagine what people are going to do if Metcalf runs in the 4.4 range.

With just 19 games under his belt in college due to injury (ironically), Metcalf is a bit of a polarizing player. He averaged over 21 yards per catch this past season at Ole Miss but only caught 26 passes.

In his college career, he hauled in 14 touchdowns.

Whatever NFL team drafts Metcalf is going to be drafting based largely on potential versus production, and there might be nothing wrong with that. This kid has obscene physical talent, making other really physically gifted athletes like AJ Brown (his Ole Miss teammate) look like they have a long way to go.

Next. Best fits for Kyler Murray in the NFL. dark

This kind of bulk is something I haven’t seen since David Boston, who was listed at 6’2″, 240 pounds. Boston was really good in 2000 and 2001, but flamed out after that. He was a first-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals and had maybe the biggest arms of any receiver you’ll ever see.

Hopefully Metcalf’s NFL career has more longevity than Boston’s.
